West Bengal experiences ongoing weather changes, contrary to the national trend of increasing cold temperatures. Over the last four days, the state has observed a slight rise in temperature, according to a statement from the regional headquarters of the Meteorological Department in Alipore.
In Kolkata, the capital city, the minimum temperature is reported at 19.5 degrees Celsius, marking a two-degree increase from the normal temperature, while the maximum temperature has reached 29.3 degrees Celsius.
Despite this upward shift, the entire state, including districts like Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura, remains enveloped in dense fog from dusk till sunrise, contributing to a cold sensation. Conversely, in North Bengal districts like Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong, the temperature is already low, signifying an escalation of cold weather.
